Gabriela Salazar

Gabriela Salazar's drawings, sculptures, and installations play with our assumptions and associations about the built environment. Walls, floors, and hardware—when intervened in, acted upon, moved or removed—draw attention to the way we interact with our surroundings, and metaphorically point towards our relationships with others in those spaces.
Gabriela graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Fine Art in 2003, and from the Rhode Island School of Design with an M.F.A. in Painting in 2009. She was born and raised (and will soon live and work in) New York.
